Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that whoever is found guilty of burning the Quran will be punished in Muslim-majority areas of the country.

According to Russia’s official TASS news agency, Putin has said that anyone who burns the Koran will be punished with severe imprisonment in the Muslim-majority region of Russia.

The aforementioned decision of Putin came during a meeting with pro-Russian military journalists and authors of Telegram channels.

It should be noted that Putin’s statement came after Nikita Zoravil, a resident of Volgograd city, was detained last month for burning the Quran in front of a mosque. Similarly, at the beginning of this year, Russia strongly condemned the burning of the Koran by Rasim Paludan, the leader of the far-right party in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
