WhatsApp will now allow its Android users to transfer chats to another device without relying on Google Drive.
Meta has been working tirelessly to make apps a better experience for its users and has been busy doing so lately. The company has recently added new features to WhatsApp and some of them include using the same WhatsApp account on four devices simultaneously, saving lost messages for later, etc. Trying to make it easy to switch chat between devices for Reducing dependence on Google.
As of now, WhatsApp allows its Android users to backup their chats and media to Google Drive which can be retrieved on a new device whenever needed. But now the app wants to reduce its dependence on Google.
Wabetainfo recently reported on WhatsApp’s efforts to roll out a new feature for Android users so that they don’t have to rely on Google Drive to back up or transfer their chats. The feature is still in testing phase.
